50-Plus Student-Athletes Earn Placement on Wells College Dean’s List
AURORA, N.Y. – Fifty-one student-athletes representing 13 of Wells College's 15 NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic programs earned placement on the school's Dean's List for the Fall 2020 semester, Director of Athletics Mike Lindberg announced.
Lindberg delivered a note to each recipient on behalf of the Wells College Athletics Department stating in part, "Let me say how proud we are of you and your accomplishment. You are an example of excellence for all our student athletes to emulate."
To earn placement on the list, students must maintain a grade-point average of 3.50 or greater for at least 12 hours of coursework in a given semester.
The group comprises geographically from 10 states that span from California to Maine.
The Wells College women's soccer program placed a semester-high 13 student-athletes on the Dean's List. More than a dozen multiple-sport student-athletes also qualified for the honor with sophomore Jennifer McCumber (Albany, N.Y.) and frehman Lydia Thomas (Lydia Thomas (Colton, N.Y.) as the lone three-sport student-athletes to qualify.
The Wells College field hockey team had the highest percentage of players on the list with nearly 88 percent. Last season's filed hockey team was ranked in the top-five nationally in its sport from nearly 150 NCAA Division III schools.
The North Eastern Athletic Association's annual scholar-athlete list is announced during the summer months.
