Men's Volleyball Splits Home Opener

Aurora, N.Y. -

BURROWS AND GARVEY LEAVE THEIR MARK AT HOME OPENER

Wells College opened up at home Saturday hosting a tri-match with Bard College and Northern Vermont State-Johnson with a 1-1 spit.  Strong offensive afternoons by senior Connor Garvey and junior Confidence Burrows fell short in the opening match versus Bard College.  The Express took the first game 25-22 but couldn't hold the Raptors off the next three games and fell short 3-1.  Garvey finished with 10 kills with Burrows and Isayah Johnson right behind with nine.

The Express bounced back their next time on the court defeting the Badgers of Northern Vermont State-Johnson 3-0.  Burrows had 14 strong kills and had 17 points for Wells. Sophomore setter Mason Moon ran the offense well with 31 assists, and Sophomore Sean Nemeth recorded three service aces.

Wells College is back on the court at Schwartz Athletic Complex on Tuesday January 30th versus SUNY Poly.
