Wells women's volleyball traveled to SUNY Oswego for a non-conference match-up Wednesday. The Lakers would defeat the Express in 3 straight sets.
The Lakers hosted the match-up and were ready from the start for the Express. In the first set, they built a 20-9 lead. Wells was able to close the gap to 7 points but fell in the first 25-15. In the second set, the Lakers never held more than a 5-point lead, The Express kept it close thanks to serves from Sasha Lamoree and Brianah Dawson but ultimately fell by two points 25-23. In the final set, some fatigue set in for Wells and found the lead of the Lakers growing to as many as 7 points. Late serves from Lexi Carfi could not salvage this one for the Express and they fell in three straight sets, 25-16.
Women's volleyball will return home this Saturday when they host a tri-match with Lancaster Bible and Penn St Abington.
Express Stat Leaders:
Brianah Dawson - 20 assists
