Women's Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season, Prepares for the Post Season!

Wells College women's volleyball hosted their final tri-match of the season this Saturday against Penn State Altoona and Alfred University.

Up first for women's volleyball was a match against Penn State Altoona who was tied for first in the AMCC. The Express fell behind 20-15 and took their first time out. After the timeout they went on a run to tie the game up at 21 apiece. Altoona was able to go on a run of their own and secure a 25-21 win in the first set. All three sets seemed to take a similar path for the Express. Each team would take their turn going on a run and then Altoona would find a way at the end of the set to capitalize on mistakes and seal the victory. Wells fell to Altoona 3 sets to 0.

Alfred University was up next for the Express. In their final non-conference game of the season, the Express came out with some serious energy. Wells sent home 11 total kills to win the first set, 25-11. Alfred came to life after the first set and started to push back on the Express. After Alfred won the second and third sets, Wells found themselves once again with their backs against the wall. To start the fourth set, Wells was down 6-1. Despite their strong efforts, they were not able to erase the deficit and fell in four sets to Alfred.

Up next, women's volleyball will be heading to the postseason! On Wednesday, November 8th, they will host the La Roche University RedHawks for a first-round AMCC post-season match-up! The game will start at 7:00 PM.
