Wells College Moving to Remote Instruction as of Nov. 3
There has been a report of an individual on campus who has tested positive for COVID-19. Effectively immediately, Wells College is going fully remote, from today through Sunday, Nov. 8. All activities on campus – including classes, athletics, extracurriculars and other activities – will suspend in-person participation.
Cayuga Health Services will be on campus today and tomorrow to test everyone on campus. All students, faculty and staff should be tested either today during this special testing time (more information below), or tomorrow during the regular testing in Stratton.
Out of an abundance of caution, students should return to their residence hall rooms to self-quarantine, and should remain in their rooms except to go to testing or to pick up a to-go meal at the dining hall. Staff should consult with their supervisors about their work schedule.
The affected individual is being moved into isolation, and the Cayuga County Department of Health has been notified so that they may begin the contact tracing process ASAP.

Locations: Stratton Hall 3rd floor, Sommer Center, and Dodge Hall lounge
Time: 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 4
Location: Stratton Hall 3rd floor
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

A few notes about this mandated testing:
You should be tested again this week even if you were tested last week.
If you are already pre-registered to test in Stratton tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov. 4), you may keep that appointment.
Students, faculty and staff who are 100% remote are not required to return to campus for testing, but may do so at their discretion.
Any student who needs transportation assistance to vote in the national election today should contact Dean Kenyon at ckenyon@wells.edu so that arrangements can be made.
CHS notified Wells this morning of a positive result that had not previously been included in their report of testing from last week. They are working to determine what caused the delay in order to ensure it does not happen again.
Again, to clarify, the campus is not fully closing as it did last spring – rather, we are pausing all in-person activities for the week. More information will be released as soon as it is available.
