Wells College women's basketball hosted a familiar conference foe, Penn College, in a non-conference match-up on Monday night.
Most of the points the Express scored in the first quarter came from the free-throw line. Gianna Padula (10), Trinity Thornton (11), and Sydney Bateman (4) did all the scoring in this game for Wells College. Morgan Brown and Anna Bernatavitz both grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds. The Express kept up with the Wildcats on the boards only losing the rebounding battle by eight. However, the Penn College defense forced Wells into 2twenty five turnovers which the Wildcats scored thirty-two points off of. The Express continued to struggle shooting from beyond the arch only burring two of their twenty-two attempts. This helped Penn College secure a non-conference road win.
Up next, women's basketball will host the Mt Aloysius Mounties on Wednesday for another AMCC mid-week match-up.
