The Wells College women's basketball team took on the NEAC's only undefeated team on Wednesday, Feb. 19 in Utica. The Wildcats came out of the gate fast with a pair of 20-plus quarters in the first, but Wells responded at the break with a much better second half that favored the home team by a 38-23 score.
Maritza Scharoun recorded a double-double for Wells with 10 points and 10 boards. Coming off a season-high 23-point performance, Jordan Jacobs again finished as the Express' points leader with 14. Jacobs finished behind Scharoun in rebounds with seven while registering a team-high three assists. Defensively, Jennifer McCumber recorded three steals on the night.
The women's basketball team returns home for a pair of contests this weekend beginning with a 7 p.m. game against Penn State-Berks on Feb. 21 and then follows that with a 3 p.m. game on Feb. 22.
