On Saturday afternoon, Women's basketball was back in action against the visiting St Mary's College of Maryland.
This was the second game in two days for the Express as they hosted back-to-back tough United East opponents. Yesterday they suffered a home loss to the Gallaudet Bison.
In the first quarter, the Express was able to knock down some shots from Caroline Barr and Morgan Adams, but they still found themselves trailing by a score of 20-9. The second quarter saw both team's offenses struggle to produce points when the visiting Seahawks put up 11 but the Express only mustered 8pts. The Express found themselves down 31-17 at the half.
In the 3rd quarter, the Express were bitten by the turnover bug when they tallied 7 turnovers for the quarter that helped the Seahawks build their lead to 53-23 heading into the 4th quarter. The 4th quarter saw the Express put up their highest offensive output of the game (16) but it was not enough to overcome the Seahawks and the Express fell at home 65-39.
