All-Conference Honors For Carley Ryan Of Women's Basketball
Wells College women's basketball junior Carley Ryan earned recognition as the North Eastern Athletic Conference announced its 2017-18 all-conference teams and individual award winners. Ryan was voted to the All-NEAC Third Team by league coaches.
Ryan, an education major from Middleburgh, N.Y., was the leading scorer for Wells in the 2017-18 season. She averaged 14.4 points per game and scored in double-figures 13 times in 25 games played. Ryan led the team in field goals made and 3-pointers made. She set a Wells record with eight 3-pointers in a Feb. 10 game against Morrisville. She scored a career-best 39 points in that game against Morrisville and was named NEAC Player of the Week.
It is the first NEAC all-conference selection for Ryan.
The Wells College women's basketball program has had at least one player selected to the all-conference teams since joining the NEAC for the 2010-11 season, when Wells women's basketball began competition at the NCAA level.
The all-conference teams honored the top-18 players in the NEAC, regardless of position. Each head coach in the league cast a ballot ranking nominated players (up to four from each institution). Coaches were not permitted to vote for their team's nominees.
