HARRISBURG ROARS PAST EXPRESS

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Wells College women's basketball team fell 70-46 to the Penn. St. Harrisburg Nittany Lions in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon in Harrisburg, Pa. The loss drops the Express to 2-10 (0-4 NEAC) on the season, while Harrisburg improves to 6-6 (4-1 NEAC).

Kristen Ryan (Syracuse, N.Y.) led the Express with 12 points and six rebounds. Ashley Roser (Taberg, N.Y.) registered her sixth double-double of the season finishing with 10 points and 16 rebounds, while Kelli Furney (Camden, N.Y.) came off the bench to add nine points and five rebounds in 19 minutes of play.

Daril Foose paced Harrisburg with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while teammate Stephanie Yetter matched Foose with 22 points to go along with eight rebounds.

The Express held an early 4-0 lead on two straight lay-ups from Kristen Ryan but Harrisburg came roaring back with 11 straight points before entering the half with a commanding 35-13 lead.

The Nittany Lions continued to pour it on in the second half stretching their lead to as many as 28 points en route to the conference victory.

The Express held the conference leading Nittany Lions to just 32 percent from the floor, however, Harrisburg took advantage from the line finishing the afternoon 24-34 from the charity stripe. The Nittany Lions also held a 51-41 advantage on the glass.

Wells will look to rebound tomorrow afternoon against NEAC opponent Gallaudett University at 12 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
