Women's Lacrosse Team Appoints Team Captains
The Wells College women's lacrosse team has announced its captains for the 2018 season. Junior goalkeeper Anna Bozeat and sophomore midfielder Savanah Connors will captain the team's 15-player roster.
Bozeat, a psychology major from Jordan, N.Y., earned North Eastern Athletic Conference Second-Team honors in 2017. She led the conference with 152 saves on the season and was fifth in save percentage at 43.8. It was her first career all-conference honor. Bozeat was also selected as the team's Rookie of the Year.
Connors, a psychology major from Riverhead, N.Y., is in her second year with the program. She appeared in seven games during her freshman campaign and missed several games due to injury. She scored seven goals and added three assists for 10 points.
Wells returns eight players and has seven newcomers under new head coach Meg Milliman. Emily Peters and Johanna McCormick are the assistant coaches.
Wells begins its competitive season for 2018 this weekend with games scheduled Saturday, March 24 at Penn State Abington and Sunday, March 25 at Bryn Athyn College. The home opener for the Express is Saturday. March 31 against D'Youville College.
