The Wells College women's lacrosse team opened the final weekend of the regular season with a 20-3 victory at Hilbert College on Friday, April 26 in a game played at Hamburg, New York. The Express was led by a hometown return performance from Renee Bartosz. The Wells senior, a native of Hamburg and graduate of Frontier High School, scored six goals and added two assists. Bartosz surpassed 100 career goals in the game.

The victory improved Wells' record to 7-5 on the season with a 5-3 record in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The Express stands in fourth place in the NEAC with one regular season game remaining. Wells has secured a playoff spot, and a victory on Saturday against Medaille would clinch a home game in the opening round of the conference playoffs.

Wells led 12-1 at halftime. Two goals each from Savanah Connors, Renee Bartosz, and Mackenzie Powers, plus one goal from Chloe Marcus helped Wells race out to a 7-0 lead.

Bartosz led Wells with six goals and two assists for eight points. Mackenzie Maloney scored five goals, all in the second half. Connors had three goals and two assists. Miranda Mingen had three goals and Powers scored twice. The Express held a 16-9 advantage in draw controls with seven draw controls from Mingen.
