Men's Lacrosse 2022 Season Recap
The Wells College men's lacrosse team finished their 2022 season with an overall record of 2-9 and a conference record of 2-4 just narrowly missing the postseason in the United East conference.
the Express started their season on a 3 game losing streak falling to Salem St, SUNY Canton, and Sage College. They were able to bounce back winning back-to-back games at Keystone College and at home against La Roche College. against La Roche, the Express would score a season-high 17 goals. 7 Goals came from Quinten Battle, 4 from Dakota Swamp, and 3 from Jacob Stine. Battle also added 3 assists and Shane Syms had 2 assists.
The third and final win of the season for the Express came on the road at Medaille College. At the half, the game was tied 5-5 but in the second half, Wells College outscored the Mavericks 6-3 grabbing the win by a score of 11-8. Dakota Swamp lead the Express that day with 8 points splitting them evening with 4 goals and 4 assists. Unfortunately, the men's lacrosse team would finish their season on a 5 game losing streak. Against Penn College, however, they celebrated their 5 seniors and their commitment to the program! The five seniors were Quinten Battle, Cory Hodge, Colton Jaquith. Ben McMonagle, and Shane Syms.
Quinten Battle was named to second-team all-conference by the United East! For the season, Battle had 35 goals, 12 assists, and 40 ground balls. Battle finished 2nd in the conference in goals per game and 4th in the conference in points per game. As a 4 year starter, he tallied over 100 points with 80 goals! Congratulations Quinten!
Express men's lacrosse will be back in 2023!
