Wells College Athletics To Stream Select Athletic Contests
AURORA, N.Y.
– The Wells College Department of Athletics has
announced the debut of live Internet webcasts for several home
athletic contests on a trial basis. The first scheduled broadcast,
a men's volleyball game against Cazenovia on Tuesday, Feb. 11,
marks the first online broadcast of a Wells College home sporting
event dating back to Apr. 27, 2002 when the Express hosted the 2002
Atlantic Women’s Collegiate Conference Softball
Championship.
“Wells College student-athletes, along with their friends
and families, have strongly embraced our online presence,”
said Griffin Spencer, Assistant Athletics Director
for Sports Information and Game Day Operations. “Thanks to
our great fans, Wells College Athletics boasts one of the strongest
fan followings in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. With an
increased number of these fans requesting live Internet webcasts,
these trials will allow us to tangibly measure the feasibility and
demand for future live streaming.”
Wells will broadcast five contests on a trial basis, including
men’s and women’s basketball along with men’s
volleyball. A full broadcast schedule is below.
