Carter named head women's basketball coach
Director of Athletics and Physical Education, Mike Lindberg is pleased to announce that Doug Carter has been named Head Women's Basketball Coach for the Wells College Express.

I want to thank Tara, Mike and the entire campus community for making me feel like family so quickly." Head Coach Doug Carter.
Coach Carter has been coaching basketball at the collegiate level for the past twenty years. His most recent tenure was as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Saint Francis University. Coach Carter also was the lead assistant at Division II Fresno Pacific University for two years. For FPU, he directed the programs recruiting efforts as well as provided support with public relations, community service, and budgeting.
Some of Coach Carters accomplishments over his twenty years of coaching include coaching 21 all-conference selections, 9 all-conference first year selections, a defensive player of the year, the Mid-South player of the year, and 9 all Americans. In 2014 Carter was named the Great South Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

The 2022 women's basketball team is a member of the United East Conference and open up play on November 11th at SUNY Canton.
