The Wells College softball team finished its South Carolina trip with a pair of games against Dean College and Brevard College on Thursday, March 12 in Myrtle Beach.
In the opening game, Wells tied Dean at 1-1 before surrendering the last eight runs in the final three innings. The Express' run came after Naomi Kubo singled to score Olivia Maish. Kubo was one of six Wells hitters on the day that also included Jenna Devora, Hayley Martin, Jennifer McCumber, Brie Gratacos and Indian McCain.
Hailie Bennett and Jessica Conover pitched in both games for the Express with Devora also seeing action on the mound against Brevard.
In the matinee game, Brevard came out swinging and built an 8-0 lead after the first two innings. The Express responded with three runs and were led by Maish, who finished with an RBI-triple and scored two runs. Devora hit an RBI-single and Bennett also singled to round out the Express hitters, while Martin scored the team's other run.
