Men's Volleyball To Host "Wells College Invitational"
AURORA, N.Y. - The
Wells College men's volleyball program will host four other teams
this Friday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 23 at the 2013 Wells
College Invitational. All seven matches will be held within the
Frances Tarlton Farenthold Athletic Wing on the campus of Wells
College - a full schedule of matches is available below.
In total, the Express will be joined by the Wildcats of Cazenovia
College, the Wildcats of the SUNY Institute of Technology, the
Fighting Blue Jays of the Polytechnic Institute of New York
University and the Saints of Siena Heights University.
With the assistance of "Express Nation", the Wells College men's
volleyball team will attempt to set the "Bump World Record" at the
end of the second set against Cazenovia College on Friday.
Both fans and players will be invited onto the court to "bump" a
volleyball into the air as many times as possible for one minute
– the world record attempt will be videotaped and submitted
to RecordSetter.com for inclusion as an official world record.
With no group officially holding the record for most "bumps" at one
time and one location, the Express look to hold the world's first
bump record with a goal of 2,013 bumps set for all participants.
Donations and pledges of any amount will be accepted by Coach Gary
(rgary@wells.edu) or
by individual members of both the men's and women's volleyball
programs. "Per bump" pledges are encouraged to help encourage the
most bumps during the event.
For more information, please contact Coach Gary at (315) 364-3350
