The Wells College men's basketball team took on undefeated and nationally-ranked Hamilton College on Friday, Jan. 5 and lost 96-61 at Scott Field House in Clinton, N.Y. Hamilton is ranked 24th in this week's D3hoops.com national poll and the Continentals improved to 11-0 with Friday's victory.
Three players scored in double-figures for Wells. Rich Ross led the Express with 16 points. He made four of six 3-point attempts and led Wells with seven rebounds. Anthony Nesci and Macho DeJesus scored 11 points each. Nesci led Wells with five assists.
Wells was 20-for-55 from the floor (36.4 percent) and 12-for-21 from the free-throw line.
Hamilton held a 47-34 rebounding advantage and the Continentals' defense helped contribute to 23 Wells turnovers.
Wells is 2-9 on the season and is back in action Saturday, Jan. 6 at home against Elms College at 3 p.m. at the Schwartz Athletic Center.
