The Wells College women's soccer team held a lead for most of the second half, but visiting Penn State Abington rallied late and claimed a 2-1 win in overtime on Sunday, Oct. 8 at the Wells Turf Field. The visiting Nittany Lions scored the game-tying goal with 23 seconds remaining and scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime period.

After a scoreless first half, Wells took the lead in the 58th minute. Carissa Perkins controlled the ball on the left side of the penalty area and lofted a cross across the face of the net. Mackenzie Maloney was at the right post and volleyed in a close-range shot from a sharp angle. It was the team-leading fourth goal of the season for Mackenzie Maloney.

The first 10-minute overtime didn't yield a goal, and then Abington won it on a chipped shot from the top of the penalty area under the crossbar.
